Narrabri Shire is the heart of Australia’s cotton industry – guided cotton tours are available. It is nestled between Mt Kaputar National Park and Pilliga National Park which offer scenic views, rock formations such as Sawn Rocks, Waa Gorge, bushwalking and bird watching.
Local attractions also include CSIRO radio telescopes, Historic Goal and Museum, antiques and art, golf, lawn bowls, fishing, local wineries, olive plantations, fish aquafarming.
Narrabri was recently voted Australia’s sportiest Shire with the most Australian and Olympic representatives. A monument has now been erected to honour this achievement.
